Airstream Unveils New Travel Trailer

Nest-Travel-Trailers-Exterior-ViewAirstream Inc., one of the Dayton region's largest manufacturers and one of America’s most iconic brands, has unveiled a new product.

Widely known for their popular aluminum-body RVs, Airstream announced the launch of its newest travel trailer, a fiberglass model called Nest.

The company, which is part of Elkhart, Ind.-based Thor Industries, described the travel trailer as "sleek, sophisticated and decidedly modern."

“There’s really nothing else like it,” said Airstream President and CEO Bob Wheeler. “Nest acknowledges Airstream’s lasting legacy, while anticipating a new potential for outdoor adventure.”

Nest’s semi-monocoque fiberglass structure was styled by automotive designer Bryan Thompson, who also worked on Airstream’s Basecamp model. The exterior design features a low stance and wide front windshield inspired by the shape of ski goggles. It comes with six windows, a skylight, and a vertical doorway window, which invite ample light into the trailer, Airstream says.
